The film academy awards, to be presented on Feb. 7 by the Ministry of Information ceremonially for the third time in the new capital, will be scrutinized out of 10 movies produced during 2007.
In February 2008, Myanmar presented 11 film academy awards for 2006, which were scrutinized out of 11 movies produced during that year.
Myanmar formed the Motion Picture Promotion and Scrutiny Board in 1952 and since then 290 domestic academy awards have been presented to successful artists annually.
